Sunshine Village has the longest non-glacial ski season in Canada. It lasts for 7 months from early November until late May. It is located on the Continental Divide of the Canadian Rockies within Banff National Park and Mt Assiniboine Provincial Park. It takes only one hour and thirty minutes for the citizens of Calgary to get to this ski resort by car. The first rope tow at Sunshine Village ski resort was built in 1941. Today it offers 12 lifts and 107 pistes, which is more than enough for every single skier or snowboarder.
